The house is located in the suburbs of Moscow. The designer’s task was to create a multifunctional interior for a young couple that work from home. The important detail of the layout of this house was the location of the monolithic staircase from the developer, which took away a lot of living space of the first floor.
The challenge was to a lot of open space on the 1st floor with many functional areas such as hallway, guest bathroom, living room and kitchen without moving the stairs.
And with a non-standard solution both of the goals were achieved: the stairs were integrated into an arch, it gave additional space to the kitchen area and allowed to place an island. The space under the stairs will be used for storage, with access from the guest bathroom.
The hallway partition is also made in the shape of an arch and together with the staircase element create a complete composition.
